Our Dance Teachers

I’m Brylee and I was born in Hamilton and grew up in the small town of Waihi Beach where I lived with my parents, two younger siblings and three pets. 

 

From the age of four, I have been passionate about dance, training in contemporary, jazz, and ballet through the BBO, NZAMD, and ATOD syllabus in Waihi and Tauranga completing all my dance exams. Alongside dance, I grew up enjoying netball, swimming for fun and competing in gymnastics and cheerleading for my school and club around the North Island. 

 

Teaching has been a part of my journey since I was 16, specializing in the ATOD syllabus across jazz, ballet, contemporary, and acro. Now in my sixth year of teaching, I find immense joy in watching my students grow and progress from the studio to the stage. 

 

In 2019, I had the incredible opportunity to perform at Disneyland and on Hollywood Boulevard on a tour, a highlight of my dance journey. 

 

After finishing high school I moved to Hamilton to complete my Bachelor of Arts degree, majoring in Psychology with a minor in Human Development and Dance studies, graduating last year. Continuing my professional development, I am now working towards an APDA teaching certificate. I can’t wait to share the APDA dance syllabus and watch the technique and skills they learn excel into their dancing.
